Beginning Farrier Course Greenville, GA – brandon@healthy-stride.com

The Beginning Farrier Course is an introductory level school for those wishing to begin their career in farrier science. The curriculum Includes equine anatomy, shoe shaping (both hot and cold), and preparing the foot for shoeing and barefoot trimming. Basic principles of Healthy Stride are also presented. The course is taught by Brandon Crew and is held in Greenville GA.

Tuition is $650 + $100 for materials fees. A deposit of $175.00 will hold your space.* Balance must be paid 1 week prior to class start date.

Two levels are offered:
• Level 1 – Healthy Stride Basics for Horse Owners

Level 2 – Healthy Stride for Hoof Care Practitioners (Trimmers & Shoers)

ALSO: Balancing the Barefoot Horse For both the horseowner and hoof care practitioner

Lectures and Hands-on Practice include:
• Principles of Healthy Stride Equine Posture Balancing
• Evaluation of the horse's movement and posture
• Basic equine anatomy and biomechanics
• Achieving balance through the use of orthotics, trimming and shoeing
• Using the tools of the trade (+ a visit to the local farrier supply)
• Field trip to local ranches with a variety of horse breeds and disciplines
• How to trim the hoof, apply hoof casting, orthotics, Vettec products and/or shoes to achieve posture balance
